Professional Biography

Mehzabin completed her LLB (Hons) Law at Manchester Metropolitan University, graduating in 2012. She joined Simpson Millar's Court of Protection team as a Legal Administrator in December 2023. Mehzabin's day-to-day role is primarily focused on handling Legal Aid matters within the Court of Protection department. She brings valuable experience from her previous position at another law firm, where she initially worked as an operations administrator. This job involved working closely with a principal lawyer on a finance project carefully reviewing thousands of cases to make sure they met all the necessary legal standards in line with SRA regulations.

In 2019, Mehzabin transitioned into the Court of Protection law area, specialising in Payroll and HR responsibilities. This experience is particularly relevant to her current role, as her duties included ensuring timely and accurate payments to support workers, carers, and rehabilitation professionals, crucial in managing Court of Protection matters. She also managed payments to HMRC and the distribution of payslips. In the HR aspect, her role extended to recruiting support staff for vulnerable clients, a skill directly transferrable to her current position. This included conducting background checks, acquiring references, issuing job offers, and overseeing contracts and salary reviews, all integral to maintaining the high standards required in the Court of Protection team.
