Rebecca is a Trainee Solicitor in our Medical Negligence Claims team, based in Manchester.

Professional Biography

Rebecca graduated with a Law LLB (Hons) from Edge Hill University in 2019. Following her graduation, she furthered her expertise by completing a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University in 2023, as well as a Professional Standards Course at Barbri Altior in the same year.

Rebecca joined Simpson Millar in August 2019, initially working in the contact centre where she first applied her legal skills. In this role, she was responsible for the initial communication with clients, providing them with guidance on the next steps. This experience was crucial as it allowed Rebecca to understand the diverse needs of clients, shifting her career aspirations from Corporate Law to becoming a Personal Injury Solicitor. This change was motivated by her wish to help people more directly and effectively solve their legal problems and face their challenges.

Through her hard work and dedication to helping others, Rebecca moved into the Clinical Negligence department, taking on the role of a Paralegal in April 2021. This role required her to carefully analyse legal documents, assist in preparing cases, and collaborate with senior lawyers to ensure that clients received the best possible legal advice and representation. She then secured a training seat, where she is currently completing her practical legal training in order to become a fully qualified Solicitor by October 2024.

In her role as a Trainee Solicitor, Rebecca supports fee earners in the areas of Medical Negligence and Catastrophic Personal Injury. Her responsibilities include communicating with clients, liaising with counsel, and coordinating with medical agencies and other third parties to make a smoother journey for clients.
