Greg joined Simpson Millar in 2015, becoming CEO and Managing Partner in August 2017.
He has more than 20 years’ legal sector experience, and is responsible for implementing Simpson Millar’s five-year growth strategy and transforming the firm.
Greg has particular expertise in law firm acquisition and mergers, law firm regulation and shaping law firms to respond to changes in the legal and regulatory landscape.
As a practitioner, Greg is one of the leading experts in legal costs and funding issues. He has appeared in many of the most important cases in the Higher Courts and has advised law firms, individuals, insurers, government departments, representative bodies and others.
He is Solicitor-Advocate, appearing in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and he is one of the few Solicitor-Advocates who has appeared in the Supreme Court.
Greg is an Assessor for Appeals to the High Court and has given evidence as an expert witness.
He is a keen proponent of Mediation and both advises and appears for mediating parties.
He is a member of the Bar Council Remuneration Committee, member of the CADR Mediation Panel, former Advisory Board member to Trust Mediation and former treasurer of Manchester Law Society.
Interests outside of work
Greg’s family and three children take up most of his spare time, but he is also a keen musician with a particular interest in the guitar and other fretted instruments, a follower and user of new technology and a sports fan.
