Professional Biography
Alan completed a combined BA degree in Physical Education and American Studies at Liverpool Hope University, graduating in 1985. With over 35 years of experience in Personal Injury law, he has primarily focused on high-value claims and asbestos-related illness claims throughout his career. Alan's expertise is particularly noted in managing complex cases involving Mesothelioma, Asbestosis, and Pleural Thickening, alongside other claims. He is skilled in navigating the complexities of cases that not only involve significant financial settlements but also require sensitive handling due to the serious health implications for clients.
In his day-to-day role, Alans’ responsibilities cover all aspects of case management from initial assessment to settlement, providing expert legal advice and support to clients affected by severe and life-altering injuries.
Alan achieved a significant settlement in a fatal Mesothelioma claim on behalf of a widow whose husband was exposed to asbestos in the 1960s whilst working in the boiler room of a brush manufacturing factory in Hertfordshire. The claimant's husband had emigrated to New Zealand many years ago, adding an international complexity to the case that required careful legal consideration and negotiation.
Alan's journey into law was somewhat unconventional. Initially intending to become a PE teacher, he quickly realised after a teaching practice that it was not the right fit for him. By chance, he entered the legal field as a Litigation Clerk and has remained in the sector ever since. Alan finds great satisfaction from assisting clients who are unable to advocate for themselves due to various circumstances, providing them with the specialist advice they need. He is committed to going the extra mile for his clients, ensuring they feel supported and well-represented, even in cases where the desired outcomes are challenging to achieve. His approach is not only about aiming for success but also ensuring clients are well-informed and reassured throughout their legal journey.
