Lois Ellard
Abuse Paralegal
Lois is a Paralegal in our Abuse team, who helps Solicitors in the department manage abuse claims.
They help people who have suffered abuse claim compensation, including adults who are claiming for abuse they experienced in childhood.
Lois also works on claims against public bodies, including schools, police forces, religious institutions and local authorities if they were at fault in any way.
She is a first class law graduate and has recently completed her Legal Practice Course and her Master’s degree before joining Simpson Millar.
Lois has held numerous voluntary roles including the Citizens Advice Bureau, West Yorkshire Police, Support Through Court (formerly known as the Personal Support Unit) and SOVA.
Lois takes a particularly empathetic approach to clients and is very open minded and understanding when helping clients navigate their cases.
Interests outside of work
Lois enjoys travelling and finding new places to eat, and is also very interested in fashion. She has been a vegetarian for 8 years and is also interested in animals and nature.
