John Burrows is a Paralegal in our Court of Protection team, based in our Manchester office.

Professional Biography

John started his legal education CILEX Law School, where he completed the CILEx Level 3 Certificate of Law and Practice, specialising in Employment Law, in 2021.

Joining Simpson Millar in March 2022 as a Legal Call Handler, John quickly transitioned to a Paralegal role in Employment Law by November of the same year, and later moved to the Court of Protection team in January 2024. In his present role in the Court of Protection team, John is responsible for assisting clients in setting up and managing Personal Injury Trusts and Deputyships for those who are vulnerable and need extra care. His daily tasks also involve direct communication with clients and the Court of Protection.

John’s past experience included volunteering at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where he supported members of the public with a variety of issues. These ranged from helping individuals access benefits and manage their debts, to providing employment advice. In his previous role in the Employment Law department at Simpson Millar, John handled complex Class Action claims involving numerous claimants, as well as sensitive cases related to discrimination.

John chose a career in law driven by a desire to help people and make a positive impact on their lives. He believes strongly in making the law accessible to everyone and is committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background and social standing, are protected by and can benefit from the legal system.
