Career
Gursharn is a Paralegal in our Court of Protection department.
She assists when vulnerable adults wish to challenge an authorisation depriving them of their liberty in care homes, residential placements or hospitals, or where there are disagreements over an individual’s capacity or best interests. Gursharn regularly attends court hearings with counsel and has experience of assisting with Judicial Review and inherent jurisdiction cases.
Gursharn has been a Paralegal for over 3 years where she has had the opportunity to represent: clients who had no recourse to public funds to secure support from social services under the Children Act 1989, CCG’s within Court of Protection Proceedings and NHS Trusts at Inquests.
Gursharn has an LLB Honours degree from BPP University, where she was the highest achiever in her chosen elective, for which she received an award. She also has an Legal Practice (Solicitors) LLM qualification from BPP University.
Outside of Work
Gursharn enjoys spending time with family and friends and has recently taken up photography. She also speaks fluent Punjabi.
