Paralegal – Public law

Career

Freya joined Simpson Millar in August 2018, and is a paralegal assisting Victoria Pogge von Strandmann in the Public Law department. Her role largely involves working with very vulnerable young people, many of whom suffer from complex trauma and other mental health issues.

Freya has also been involved with cases relating to human rights law, and as part of this, works with victims of modern slavery and trafficking. She also has experience of working with young people who have left care and age-disputed minors.

She graduated with a 2:1 in Law from the University of Cambridge in June 2018. Her degree included an emphasis on human rights and international law.

Interests outside of work

Freya loves running and has raised over £2,500 for the British Red Cross, which assists many of the vulnerable clients she works with, in advance of running the London Marathon in 2020.

She is also a big foodie and loves cooking for friends and family in her spare time. While at university, Freya volunteered with the Centre for Criminal Appeals.
