Daniel O'Neill

Employment Law Paralegal

Daniel is a Paralegal in our Employment Law team, who helps people who weren’t properly consulted when being made redundant claim Protective Awards.

He joined Simpson Millar in March 2020, initially working in the Client Contact Centre helping with on-boarding Protective Award clients.

His main role in the First Response Team was supporting the Protective Awards Team by helping clients who have recently been made redundant from companies such as Specialist Leisure Group, Mothercare, Debenhams, Flybe, Cruden Construction and Cartwright Construction, to name a few.

His role consisted of explaining and guiding clients through the Protective Award process, handling and verifying clients’ documentation, and processing the initial stages of their claim.

In April 2021, he was promoted to Paralegal, and has been able to learn quickly in his new working environment.

In this role, he is starting to get more hands-on experience of dealing with the legal side of Protective Awards claims, and his knowledge of Employment Law has been strengthened by learning from senior Solicitors in his new team. His future goal is to start his Legal Practice Course in September 2022.

Daniel joined Simpson Millar shortly after graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2019 with a Law degree.
