Chris is the Team Leader in our Dispute Resolution department, whose main areas of expertise include:
Chris also helps the head of department with operational matters, to help the team perform at its best.
Chris began his career working in criminal law (Defence), where he represented clients detained at police stations for a variety of offences, having achieved his Police Station Accreditation in 2004.
He then moved into Civil Law, where he worked for BLM in their housing and insurance department. During his time there, he acted for several Local Authorities and Registered Landlords dealing with all manners of Landlord and tenant disputes, including housing disrepair claims.
Chris then moved to The Connexus Group, which acted as a “one stop shop” for a number of large insurance companies. He handled claims at both the pre-action and litigation stages, including personal injury and industrial disease claims, as well as boundary disputes.
He also advised insurer clients on whether an insurance policy would indemnify a claim made by a policyholder.
Chris later moved to Pure Legal Limited, where he was employed as a fee earner and quickly promoted to Team Leader of the cavity wall insulation claims department, which is currently a niche area of law.
His biggest success during his time there was heading a project against a national company, which resulted in numerous settlements of cavity wall insulation claims.
The Defendant had at first been extremely aggressive in their defences of these claims, but a carefully thought-out litigation strategy was put in place. They later engaged in global settlements which also resulted in further settlement meetings being put in place by the same defendant insurer, who also acted for a separate defendant.
Chris spends most of his spare time with his daughter and girlfriend. He is a huge boxing fan and keen follower of Liverpool FC. He also enjoys going to the gym, cooking and a nice bottle of red wine.
