Employment Law Paralegal
Her main role is helping clients who were employed by companies such as Thomas Cook, Specialist Leisure Group, Cruden Construction and Cartwright to secure Protective Awards if they’ve been made redundant without being properly consulted.
She also regularly drafts communications with other professional parties including other Solicitors, Insolvency administrators, the Redundancy Payment Service and Employment Tribunals.
In addition, she makes sure all Protective Awards payments are processed quickly and efficiently, so clients receive their monies as soon as possible.
This has helped her develop her organisational and verbal client communication, and our clients regularly comment on how helpful Charlie is on the telephone.
Working in the Protective Awards team has been a steep learning curve for Charlie, as this is a very technical area of law, but she has and continues to learn from senior members of the team leading the Protective Awards campaigns.
Despite being in the very early stages of her legal career, Charlie is an asset to the Employment Law department and Simpson Millar as a business.
Charlie joined Simpson Millar in November 2019, initially working in the Client Contact Centre and working closely with the Employment Law team towards vetting and on-boarding potential Protective Award claimants.
She was promoted to work as a Paralegal in the Employment Law (Protective Awards) team in November 2020.
Interests outside of work
In her spare time Charlie enjoys baking, long walks, and spending time with family and friends.
