I spent 2 weeks in Mexico, in a 5* ultra all inclusive hotel thinking we were having the best holiday. I returned home and suffered significantly from an illness. I flagged this with the tour operator and felt like I was getting fobbed off and not being told the full truth. I was given the details of Simon Lomax and Simpson Millar from a member of a Facebook group who had suffered the same illness as myself in the same hotel. The more I looked into the tour operator and the medical name of my illness I was taken aback. Cyclospora Cayetanenis is horrific. It wiped me out and left me feeling awful, both physically and mentally, as it took a while to diagnose. I really didn't know where to turn or what to do. I spoke with Simon at length, I was dealing with things I hadn't come across before, legal processes, documents etc... Simon and the team were fantastic, supportive and generally really helpful. It isn't an easy process, and rightly so. Checks were needed, details crossed-checked and medical reports complied, all with the support of Simon & Simpson Millar. They really went the extra mile to explain and break things down until I fully understood what was happening and what the next stages were etc... Overall, they have been superb. I highly recommend this company. I hope in a way that you never need them. However, if you do or you're not sure of what your rights are, pick up the phone, drop them an email and ask. I felt like I could contact Simon about anything, even questions about things that may never happen. He always took the time to explain the next stages and any possible avenue that the case could take. The support and admin teams offered a great service also. The consultants and microbiologists that support the team collating medical reports etc have the same persona, they take their time, listen and genuinely care about you.Scott

Interests outside of work
Simon enjoys most sports, particularly those which involve his children. Most of his spare time is spent watching grass roots football at various venues throughout the North-West.
When he does get time to himself, he likes to read or listen to a whole range of music whilst brewing his own real ale.
