Medical Negligence Paralegal
Shannon is a Paralegal in our Clinical and Medical Negligence department and assists Solicitors Kay Barnes, Sarah Holdsworth and Roisin Hulme with their caseloads.
After graduating with a 2:1 degree in (LLB) Law and Criminology from the University of Sheffield in 2016, she worked as a New Client Advisor at Howells Solicitors for 6 months. Within this role, she shadowed the Clinical Negligence department and gained a firm interest in this area of law.
She subsequently left Howells for a Paralegal role in Switalskis Solicitors’ Clinical Negligence department, and then moved to British Telecommunications PLC’s motor claims department to gain experience of handling a caseload and develop her skills further.
At BT, she handled a caseload of over 200 defendant PI claims and claimant and defendant motor claims. She stayed in this role for over a year before moving to Simpson Millar, as she missed claimant Clinical Negligence law and the sense of gratification that comes with making a positive difference to clients’ lives.
Shannon is currently studying the Legal Practice Course part-time.
