Partner, Private Client & Court of Protection
Grace is a Senior Private Client Solicitor with extensive experience in Court of Protection, Wills and Probate. She initially qualified as an Advocate in Uganda and then, after undertaking the Common Professional Exams at the University of North London qualified as a Solicitor in 2002.
She had two years’ post-qualification experience in Conveyancing, Immigration and Litigation before choosing to specialise in Private Client work. She has been a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioner (STEP) since 2006.
Grace joined the firm in September 2016 from Irwin Mitchell where she was an Associate in the Court of Protection team and led the Statutory Wills stream nationwide. She now heads the Court of Protection (finance and property) team in Simpson Millar and the Private Client department in our Kingston-upon-Thames office.
Her significant Court of Protection caseload has a number of clients who have been awarded substantial compensation resulting from Personal Injury and Medical Negligence claims for whom she acts as Professional Deputy.
She also manages a number of clients’ Personal Injury and Will Trusts. Grace deals with a variety of applications to the Court and is particularly interested in dealing with unusual applications including contested applications to the Court of Protection, statutory Will matters and applications to revoke Lasting Powers of Attorney. She also deals with a number of complex Trusts and Probate matters.
Interests outside of work
Grace loves singing, and is part of the leadership of a contemporary Christian music band. She co-leads a church organisation based in Camberwell which focuses on youth work, and is an inspirational motivational speaker.
