Deana joined Simpson Millar in 2013, the year she qualified as a Solicitor. She is an experienced Employment Law Solicitor, having advised clients on a variety of employment and HR-related issues. That covers anything from day-to-day issues to more complex procedures such as redundancy and TUPE (transfers of undertakings concerning employees when a business transfers into new ownership).
Deana manages and helps give HR support to employers of various sizes, and aims to minimise the risk of any potential claims being brought against them.
She does this by ensuring that they have clear and compliant policies and procedures in place for dealing with all Employment Law matters, such as drafting policies, handbooks and contracts.
She regularly drafts Settlement Agreements on behalf of employers, and guides them through the process of settling disputes and/or terminating employment using this mechanism. Deana has experience of delivering seminars in-house and training in the workplace for clients, on a wide range of employment law/HR topics.
Her expertise covers HR support for employers, Settlement Agreements including negotiation of severance packages, Employment Law training, redundancy advice, and advising employees on claims against employers.
Deana is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
