Professional Biography

Claire's academic journey into law began with a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Westminster, where she achieved a grade of Commendation in 2003. She continued her legal education at BPP Law School, graduating with a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2005. Claire further expanded her knowledge with a Master of Laws (LLM) in Health Care Law and Ethics from The University of Manchester, graduating with Merit in 2016. Since starting her career in the Clinical Negligence field in 2003 and qualifying as a Solicitor in February 2009, Claire has worked at several other firms, accumulating over 20 years of experience in Medical Negligence.

At Simpson Millar, Claire's day-to-day responsibilities involve providing legal advice and support to individuals affected by Medical Negligence, whether they've suffered injuries or lost a loved one. Claire has a broad range of experience within Medical Negligence and inquests but holds particular expertise in dealing with complex cases such as Birth-related Injuries, Brain Injuries in children and adults, complex Surgical Errors, Orthopaedic/Spinal Injuries, and Fatal Claims, especially those involving delayed diagnosis of cancer.

Claire has been a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme since October 2013, showcasing her recognised expertise in this area of law.

Drawn to law by the desire to help those who have suffered injustice, Claire has found her calling in Medical Negligence. She feels privileged to represent individuals who have endured severe, often life-changing injuries or the loss of a loved one. Claire is empathetic and approachable, yet firm and fair in her approach. She appreciates the trust her clients place in her, a responsibility she handles with utmost care and dedication. Claire enjoys the investigative aspect of complex liability cases and takes satisfaction in providing clear, reasoned legal advice to her clients. Her expertise allows her to clearly understand complex medical and legal issues, ensuring her clients get thorough representation.
