A Motorbike Accident Claim Case Study

Our Personal Injury Solicitors successfully dealt with a motorbike accident claim on behalf of a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries.

Our client was riding his motorbike when a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction overtook a vehicle and clipped his foot. He suffered a serious bone fracture injury to his foot and was consequently retired from his job on grounds of ill health. Our client has managed to find another job but it is likely he will need surgery in the future.

The other driver involved in the accident was untraced and we had to pursue the personal injury claim with the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) in order to try and claim compensation for our client's motorbike accident.

Our Personal Injury Solicitors had to convince the MIB that the injury occurred as our client stated and that he did not contribute to the accident by riding his bike 'with his foot in the position that it was'. We had to obtain evidence to support this.

The initial medical evidence obtained by the MIB was unclear and so we argued that it was necessary for us to obtain our own evidence funded by the MIB which was very supportive.

The case was settled and our client received a compensation award of £84,500
