A Holiday Accident Claim Case Study - Client Situation
Our client, Mrs Rawlings was on holiday with her husband in Turkey when she fell down an unlit flight of stairs at her hotel.
They were staying at the Alp Pasa Hotel in Kaleci and she was walking down steps leading from the first floor when the accident occurred. Mrs Rawlings sustained a broken hip in the fall, and required immediate and extensive hospital treatment.

How We Helped
Having spent ten days in a Turkish hospital before being flown back to the UK and having had the rest of her holiday completely ruined, Mrs Rawlings got in touch with our Holiday Claims Solicitors to claim compensation.
Her case was taken on by Senior Associate Solicitor James Blower and her case was taken on under a No Win, No Fee agreement. James and his team carried out investigations and sought advice from a Turkish architect, who discovered that the design of the steps and the lack of lighting was in breach of local safety standards.
Tour operator Mapmart Limited admitted liability (fault) for Mrs Rawlings’ accident and the injuries she suffered. Since Mrs Rawlings and her husband had booked a package holiday, they were able to bring a holiday accident claim against the tour operator.
The Outcome
Mrs Rawlings received a settlement of £33,000 compensation which included the cost of the hospital treatment she received in Turkey and the cost of flying her back to the UK. The payout also reflected the severity of the injury she sustained, the impact on her life over a considerable period of time and the inconvenience caused.
Following the compensation settlement, Mrs Rawlings said she was “delighted with the outcome” and praised Solicitor James Blower for being “courteous, friendly, patient, helpful and effective”.
