If we can help with your data breach claim, we'll do this on a No Win, No Fee basis.

DivideBuy are a credit company who offer interest free credit payments, allowing customers to choose to pay for purchases at a later date or spread the payments into installments between a 2 to 12 month period.

Affected customers were contacted by DivideBuy on 3 March and told that their personal data, including their name, email address, home address and date of birth had been taken in a cyber-incident.

The email also offers affected customers a 12-month subscription to TrueIdentity, a credit score agency and ID theft programme. DivideBuy have encouraged customers to use this programme to track whether or not their personal data is being used.

This suggests that the personal data may not be encrypted. Encryption is used to safeguard data against unauthorised or unlawful access, so if customers’ personal data isn’t encrypted, this could put them at risk.

DivideBuy have not yet provided a public statement about the data breach, but we encourage any worried customers to get in touch for free initial legal advice.

Protect Your Personal Data

If you’re worried about the safety of your personal data, the best thing you can do is update your passwords – both on your DivideBuy account and any other accounts you’ve used this password for.

You should also keep an eye out for any unusual activity on your bank accounts and any suspicious sounding emails, texts or phone calls.

The effects of a data breach won’t always be felt straight away, so it’s good practice to regularly update your passwords to protect your accounts.
