We understand that times are challenging right now. Everyone’s been affected by the Coronavirus crisis in some way and many of us are finding being separated from our loved ones tough.
It’s great to see how we’ve all been working together to protect the vulnerable people around us. From video calls on Facetime, Skype and Zoom, to touching hands with loved ones through a window, people all over the world have been finding creative ways to communicate despite the current lockdown.
At Simpson Millar, we’ve also had to adapt our communication so that we can continue to give you high levels of service and support. So as well as using email and phone to stay in touch, we’re using other ways to ensure we can all stay connected.
Staying Connected With You
You can still get in touch with your case handler by email and/or by phone. We all use Skype for Business and as a result, we can work remotely and we’re contactable during our regular office hours. Our strong IT infrastructure supports over 500 people to work remotely at the same time.
That means where possible your case won’t be delayed despite the current challenges.
If you want to stay in touch with us face to face – just let us know what works best for you and we can do our best to help.
Court Dates
The Courts have continued to stay open if they can. You can read the Government guidance about this on the gov.uk website. If you have specific questions about your Court date, please contact your case handler to talk about it.
A Guide to Skype for Business
We know that using new technology can be daunting. So we’ve put together a short guide on how you can connect with us through Skype. This is best done through your laptop or desktop.
If you’ve agreed a time to speak to your case handler, they’ll send you an email calendar invite, which will have the meeting details, along with a link to join the meeting. It will show as Simpson Millar in your inbox.
When it’s time for your call, you’ll get a calendar prompt by email.
STEP 1 Click Join Skype Meeting
STEP 2 Click Join as Guest
STEP 3 Type in your name, then click the arrow and you’ll be accepted into the meeting.
If you need any help setting up Skype for Business, just get in touch.
