How Much Can I Claim?
A Protective Award can be for up to 90 days’ pay but you’re guaranteed to be paid at least 8 weeks’ pay by HM Insolvency Service.
There is a cap of £544 per week and the maximum amount you can claim in total is £4,352. But the amount of compensation you’ll get will depend on your gross weekly pay.
Both full time and part time employees can apply for a Protective Award Claim and you can still claim any outstanding wages or holiday pay you’re owed, as these are separate to a Protective Award Claim.
Is There a Time Limit for a Protective Award Claim?
Yes, there is a fixed time limit of 3 months less than one day from the date you were made redundant to make a Protective Award claim. We recommend getting legal advice from an Employment Law Solicitor as soon as possible.
