Ms R was sitting in the front passenger seat of her boyfriend’s car when he attempted to overtake three cars when it wasn’t safe to do so. This caused a head-on collision with an oncoming car, and the car our client was travelling in went into a spin, rolled, hit a bank and caught fire.
Thankfully, Ms R managed to get out of the car through a broken passenger window, but her boyfriend sadly died of the injuries he sustained.
Ms R sustained several injuries in the car accident, including facial burns, a minor head injury with concussion, back and rib injuries, headaches, flashbacks and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Due to her physical and psychological injuries, she was unable to work for some time.

The accident had been entirely caused by the driver of the car she’d been travelling in, so we approached the driver’s insurance company, which accepted that he’d been at fault and caused the accident.
This meant we could negotiate a fair and reasonable compensation payout for Ms R without having to go through the added time, expense and distress of going to Court.
We carried out a thorough investigation to determine how much compensation Ms R should claim.
This included arranging independent medical assessments by a GP, a consultant psychiatrist and a neurologist. Each of these specialists prepared medical reports detailing her injuries and the impact they have had on her life.
