Family Law, including Divorce, Matrimonial Finance, Domestic Violence and Abuse (with an interest in forced marriage and FGM) and private and public children’s law (local authority care proceedings).
After obtaining and completing a scholarship at Howells School Llandaff, Jenine went on to study Law and Sociology at the University of the West of England, Bristol. After completing her undergraduate degree, Jenine spent a year at Swansea University obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Law.
Following a gap year, where she travelled across the Far East and Australasia, Jenine acquired her Legal Practice Certificate from the BPP School of Law, London. Jenine began her career in 2011 for Simpson Millar LLP where she was based in her local community and hometown office of Cardiff where she was initially employed as a Paralegal in the Industrial Disease/Personal Injury department. After being offered the opportunity of being the first Trainee Solicitor at the Cardiff Office, Jenine was transferred to the Leeds Head Office to train and specialise in Family Law. Jenine is now based in the Cardiff office of Simpson Millar LLP as a Family Law Solicitor.
Resolution, Association of Lawyers, Cardiff and District Law Society Member, Cardiff Junior Lawyers Division Member, ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card, Wales as well as being the Director and co-founder of The LAC (Law Abiding Citizen) Project in Cardiff.
Jenine sits on the Family Courts Union Parliamentary Group, and her role enables her as a Solicitor to attend Westminster and directly lobby Parliament in relation to problems or concerns within the legal profession as well as in the family law field. Simpson Millar are the only firm in England and Wales to do so.
Jenine also spends her time between holding community legal advice clinics for Communities First in Cardiff Bay and a national Women’s and Domestic Violence agency in Cardiff as well as a Family Law clinic at the Cardiff and the Vale Citizens Advice Bureau. From September 2014, Jenine has been invited to work with the University of South Wales, as a family law guest lecturer and with the students at their Law and Business Pro Bono Clinic.
She is also a Member of the Resolution Committee South Wales and also Chair of the Young Resolution Committee South Wales
Jenine was recently shortlisted for the Modern Law Rising Star Award 2014.
Jenine won Citizen Cyrmu Young Muslim Leader of Wales Award in June 2016 due to the legal work she has carried out in the Cardiff community.
Jenine was made an Associate of Simpson Millar in May 2017.
Jenine is a keen sports fan and can be seen (and heard) quite regularly watching Cardiff City at their local football ground. She also has a keen interest in music, travel and spending time with her family and friends.
Jenine also has a special interest in marketing and business development and has recently co-organised the third black tie event in 2015 for and with Show Racism the Red Card, Wales.
