Claire grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees at the University of Cape Town. Prior to working for Simpson Millar, Claire worked at Thompsons Solicitors in Nottingham for a period of 10 years representing injured Claimants on behalf of a number of the larger Trade Unions such as the GMB, Unite and CWU. She has also worked for a number of years in Birmingham at Challinors Lyon Clarke and Sydney Mitchell Solicitors. Clair has always represented the interests of claimants, wherever she has worked.
Claire commenced working at Simpson Millar Bristol office in August 2016. She has over 20 years of experience in litigating Industrial Disease and Complex Injury Claims solely on behalf of claimants. Claire has gained considerable experience over the years negotiating and settling claims. She has successfully litigated various cases through the Courts. Claire has a particular interest in the Control of Hazardous Substances at Work; she is most proud of a settlement she achieved for a group of employees who had developed dermatitis as a result of exposure to dyes in uniforms.
Claire is a CILEX member.
Outside of work Claire is a regular visitor to the cinema and theatre. Claire loves the countryside and open spaces and likes nothing better than walking in the Derbyshire Dales. She also takes a keen interest in South African rugby.
