Lorraine Harvey

Lorraine is a Partner at Simpson Millar, specialising in Family Law for over 20 years.

She handles middle to high net value cases, including pension claims and complex trust, and also advises on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

Lorraine has unrivalled knowledge of public sector pensions, in particular police pensions, having advised police officers on pension claims for two decades.

Most of her cases have a business element, whether that’s a family business or shareholding. She works closely with an accountant to value the business and look at various options for the parties to consider on settlement.

Lorraine also has experience in advising on unmarried property disputes and cohabitation agreements, as well as private children cases, often including relocation cases.

Her clients include professionals, entrepreneurs, professional sportsmen and women, and CEOs.

Lorraine is known for her thorough, practical approach, and helping clients through a roadmap to get where they want to be.

Lorraine has been a Partner for nearly 20 years and has had many years’ experience in management.

Prior to joining Simpson Millar, she headed the family team in Manchester for a Tier 1 national law firm, where she worked for 9 years.

She is currently ranked in the Legal 500 and is known for her attention to detail and excellent judgement. She has advised researchers on a regular basis on topical family matters.

Lorraine appears regularly on national radio and BBC News commenting on current family legal matters, and has written articles for The Review, Family Law Journal and lifestyle magazines.
