He had previously been Principal Lawyer and Business Development Co-ordinator of the Clinical Negligence department of Slater and Gordon Lawyers UK.
Ian was the Lead Solicitor of the Organ Retention Litigation relating to Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool, which remains the largest mediated settlement with the NHSLA/NHS Resolution.
After earning his LLB (Hons) degree, Ian worked as a Trainee Solicitor at Kuit Steinart Levy (now Kuits Solicitors) in Manchester.
He has a keen interest in business development in Clinical Negligence and law firms generally. He is based in the Liverpool office but regularly travels nationwide to meet face-to-face with clients, recognising the need for a personalised approach.
Ian has been a panel member of the patients charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) for nearly 20 years and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
He was recognised in the Legal 500 2017 individual as a “leading individual”, who “cares greatly, makes a real difference to the cases he is involved in and has the guts and drive to make things happen". Ian was also recognised as a leader in his field by being Band 1-ranked in Chambers and Partners 2018.
Interests outside of work
Married with four children, Ian is very proud of his home city of Liverpool, and has been going to Anfield to support Liverpool FC for more than 40 years. He is also keen on music and enjoys going to concerts.
