Elle Gauld

Elle Gauld is a Solicitor in our Public Law and Human Rights team, based in London.

Professional Biography

Elle received a BA degree in Classics from Oxford University in 2015 and furthered her legal education by completing the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at BPP University. She has also completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law in 2021.

Elle's early legal career encompassed working alongside a barrister and serving as a Paralegal in an offshore banking and trust firm, both roles undertaken between 2015 and 2016. While studying for the postgraduate law conversion course part-time in London, Elle also joined a number of pro bono projects, and worked alongside a clinical psychologist specialising in work with victims of trafficking and domestic abuse. Through these experiences, Elle found an interest in community care and public law which led her to joining Simpson Millar’s Public Law team.

Elle first joined Simpson Millar in September 2018, as a Paralegal in our Public Law department, then became a Trainee Solicitor in October 2021 and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2023. Throughout her time at Simpson Millar, she has gained experience in a number of teams and practice areas within the wider Public Law team including Claims against Public Authorities, Community Care, Court of Protection and Abuse. Her practice area focusses particularly on cases supporting children in/leaving care, trafficked individuals, young asylum seekers or refugees and bereaved families in inquests.
