Elisa’s first language is Welsh, and second language is English and she has played a vital role throughout her career in achieving the best outcomes for families and children in England and Wales in issues surrounding Education Law.
She assists families with a range of matters relating to Education Law to make sure that parents can achieve the best outcomes for their child. She has experience helping parents appeal their child’s exclusion from school, admissions appeals and matters relating to children with Special Educational Needs.
Elisa started her career by obtaining a training contract as a Justice First Fellow at the Children’s Legal Centre Wales, going on to qualify as a Children’s Rights Solicitor.
During her time at the Children’s Legal Centre, she was seconded on numerous different placements, including the Education department, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales offices, and KIN Cymru (a legal charity for children with disabilities).
As part of her career, Elisa helped to establish Wales’ first free education law clinic. She also assisted the Children, Young People and Educational Committee with their inquiry against the Welsh Government on radical reform of care experiences for children and young people.
Elisa obtained her degree in Law in 2019 from the University of Reading and went on to study the LLM and LPC at the Hilary Clinton Law School at Swansea University, graduating in 2020. She studied her Master of Laws degree through the medium of Welsh, where she received a scholarship.
Elisa was voted in the Top 15 of the Most Inspirational Students in 2019, out of 750+ candidates.
