Selma studied her LLB Law degree at the University of Greenwich and graduated with First Class Honours. She then went on to study her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at The University of Law and graduated with Commendation.
As part of her degree she studied Employment Law covering areas such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, TUPE transfers, discrimination, harassment and breach of contract. She has also attended professional courses on unfair dismissal, employment tribunal claims and conducting employment tribunals.
Selma joined the Simpson Millar as a Paralegal in June 2014 and became a Trainee Solicitor in October 2016. She currently works in Employment Law under the supervision of Partner and Head of Employment Law Aneil Balgobin.
Selma has extensive knowledge on the Civil Procedure Rules and experience in dealing with both non-issued and litigated Fast-Track and Multi-Track cases. In the Employment department, she also works on matters involving commercial disputes.
Additionally, Selma is fluent in English and Turkish.
Selma has a keen interest in travelling and has previously visited Spain, Italy and Turkey. She enjoys reading fiction and socialising with friends and family. She also takes part in the London Legal Walk each year to raise money for Citizens Advice Bureaus and the London Legal Support Trust.
