Ian joined Simpson Millar in 2017, with 25 years of experience in Medical negligence cases. He is head of the Clinical Negligence team. He studied law at Manchester Metropolitan University and Chester Law School.
Some of his career highlights include being the lead solicitor of the Organ Retention Litigation relating to Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool, fighting for justice on behalf of hundreds of parents.
He was also the lead solicitor in a landmark case that established ground breaking ADR protocol for the NHS Litigation Authority. Ian represented hundreds of patients who had suffered at the hands of a surgeon performing urogynaecological operations.
Ian also has extensive experience in life-changing injuries including birth injuries, acquired brain injuries and amputation cases.
He has a keen interest in business development in Clinical Negligence and law firms. He is based in the Leeds office but regularly travels nationwide to meet face-to-face with clients, recognising the need for a personalised approach.
Ian is married with 4 children. He is very proud of his home city of Liverpool and has been frequenting Anfield for the past 40 years supporting his football team, Liverpool FC. He also has a keen interest in music and likes to attend concerts.
