Professional biography

During her legal career, Maryam has gained experience across a number of different areas of law, including Immigration and Asylum Law, Housing Disrepair, Travel Law, and now Education and Children’s Rights. This varied background has helped her develop broad legal knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support clients from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances.

Her experience working in client-focused areas of law has also strengthened her understanding of the challenges vulnerable individuals and families can face when trying to access support and protect their rights.

In her day-to-day role, Maryam assists with a wide range of work within the Education and Children’s Rights department. Her responsibilities include reviewing records, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and organising evidence for hearings and tribunal proceedings.

Maryam also communicates regularly with families and young people, helping to gather important information, explain legal processes in a clear and accessible way, and support the progression of cases. She understands that education disputes can often feel stressful and overwhelming for families and aims to ensure clients feel informed and supported throughout the process.

Educational background

Maryam graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a First Class Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB Hons).

Maryam chose to pursue a career in law because of her strong belief in fairness, accountability, and the role the legal system can play in protecting individuals’ rights. She is particularly motivated by ensuring that vulnerable people have equal access to justice and feel that their voices are heard. Maryam is driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families she supports.
