Hannah Stainthorpe is a Team Leader within our Child Care Proceedings team. She is based in Manchester.
As a Team Leader within our Child Care Proceedings team, Hannah provides legal advice and representation to parents, family members and children's guardians involved in care proceedings and pre-proceedings matters. She supports clients through what can often be difficult and emotional situations, helping them understand their rights, the legal process and the options available to them.
Her day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on matters involving children's care and welfare, preparing for court proceedings and representing clients at hearings. Hannah works closely with those she represents to understand their circumstances, explain the steps involved in their case and provide clear, practical advice throughout the legal process.
Hannah has over 20 years of experience specialising in care proceedings, having worked in this area of law since qualifying as a solicitor in June 2005. Before joining Simpson Millar, she practised in West Yorkshire, developing extensive experience representing families involved in care proceedings.
Hannah has been an accredited member of the Law Society's Children Panel since December 2011. This accreditation recognises solicitors who have demonstrated specialist knowledge and experience in representing children and families in children law matters.
Hannah studied law at the University of Huddersfield, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and achieving First Class Honours.
She was admitted as a solicitor on 1 June 2005.
