During her time at university, she actively volunteered at the Liverpool Law Clinic, assisting families and individuals facing challenging legal issues, particularly those involving domestic abuse. Charlotte was admitted as a Solicitor in September 2024.
Before joining Simpson Millar in September 2024, she trained at a global law firm, gaining diverse experience in litigation, including Inquests, Public Inquiries, and both criminal and civil litigation. In her day-to-day role, Charlotte focuses on a variety of public law and human rights cases. She handles cases involving judicial reviews, challenges against public authorities, and represents clients in human rights related cases, and at inquests. Charlotte is dedicated to ensuring her clients receive clear and effective legal advice, enabling them to understand their rights and the legal processes involved.
Charlotte is a member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers, which reflects her commitment to supporting accessible legal aid and promoting fair legal representation.
Charlotte represented the family of Evelyn Gibson, a 15-year-old who tragically died in 2022 due to significant failings in her mental health care. The inquest revealed delays in diagnosis, inadequate discharge planning, and insufficient aftercare, all of which contributed to Evelyn's death. Charlotte supported the family in advocating for systemic changes, ensuring their voices were heard, and highlighting improvements implemented since Evelyn’s passing. Her compassionate and diligent approach helped bring closure to the family whilst driving critical reforms in mental health services.
Charlotte is driven by a passion to protect fundamental human rights and freedoms. She is committed to empowering individuals by improving their access to justice and ensuring their voices are heard.
