What is the Claims Process?

Once you’ve used our eligibility checker and confirmed you meet the criteria, we can handle everything else for you.

  • Getting permission to make a claim from the joint administrators at Grant Thornton
  • Completing an Acas Early Conciliation – this is a requirement before making a claim at an Employment Tribunal
  • Taking your claim to the Employment Tribunal – we’ll be there with you every step of the way and complete all the necessary paperwork for you

The Employment Tribunal will make a judgment about whether your employer failed to follow the correct redundancy procedures when making you and your colleagues redundant.

How Much Compensation Will I Get?

The amount you’ll get will be based on your weekly pay, whether you’re a full time or part time employee.

You can claim up to 90 days’ pay for a Protective Award but you and your colleagues are guaranteed to be paid 8 weeks’ pay by HM Insolvency Service. As pay is capped at £544 per week, this means that the amount of your award could be up to £4,352.
