Professional Biography
Yasmin is currently working towards qualification as a Solicitor through the Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme at the University of Law, which she began in January 2022. This route combines academic study with practical legal experience, allowing her to develop her skills whilst working within the firm.
Yasmin joined Simpson Millar in November 2018, starting in the New Business team, where she gained valuable experience speaking with clients at the early stages of their legal journey. She progressed to a Paralegal role in July 2021, before moving into her current position as a Solicitor Apprentice in January 2022.
Over the course of her time at the firm, Yasmin has gained experience across several departments, including Private Client, the Education department, and Wills, Trusts and Probate. This varied background has given her a broad understanding of legal processes and the different ways in which legal issues can impact individuals and families.
In her day-to-day role, Yasmin assists with Court of Protection Property and Affairs matters, supporting solicitors with case preparation, client communication, and the management of deputyship cases. She also manages a small caseload of her own, including the set-up and progression of Personal Injury Trusts, helping to protect compensation awarded to individuals following an injury. Through this work, she supports the careful management of clients’ financial affairs and helps ensure decisions are made in their best interests.
Yasmin has always been driven by a desire to support people through difficult periods in their lives. She understands that every client’s situation is unique and values taking the time to build a genuine connection, ensuring each person feels heard and supported. Yasmin takes pride in offering a thoughtful and tailored approach, recognising that legal matters often have a significant personal impact.
