Solicitor, Education Law
London

Victoria Kerr is a Solicitor within our Education and Children’s Rights department. She is based in London.
Victoria was admitted as a Solicitor on 17 February 2003 and began her legal career specialising in Commercial Property Law, where she developed extensive experience advising clients on a wide range of property matters.
Over time, changes in her personal and family life inspired Victoria to pursue a career in Education Law. She has developed a strong passion for supporting children, young people, and their families, helping them understand their rights and ensuring they receive the educational support to which they are entitled.
Before joining Simpson Millar, Victoria spent two years working as an Education Advocate, assisting parents in securing appropriate educational provision for their children. Through this role, she gained valuable experience supporting families through the challenges of the education system and developed a thorough understanding of the issues they can face. She is now excited to build on this experience by providing legal advice and representation to help families achieve the best possible outcomes.
In her day-to-day role, Victoria works with children, young people, and their families to understand their individual educational needs and the challenges they may be experiencing. She supports clients through the education system, helping to ensure that schools, local authorities, and other organisations fulfil their legal responsibilities towards children and young people.
Victoria is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Victoria graduated from the University of Northampton in 2000 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), achieving a 2:1. She then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at London Metropolitan University in 2001, graduating with a Commendation.
Victoria chose a career in law because it reflected her strong sense of fairness and justice. Although she spent many years practising in commercial property law, becoming a parent changed her perspective and inspired her to focus on helping children and young people.
She is passionate about ensuring that every child has access to the support they need to succeed in education. Victoria is committed to helping families feel heard, guiding them through what can often be a complex process, and working to ensure that schools, local authorities, and other organisations meet their legal obligations so that children and young people can achieve the best possible outcomes.
