Areas of Expertise:

Michael is our Business Development Manager based in the Road Traffic Accidents and Serious Injury team in our Manchester office. He works with our expert team to support families who have been affected by fatal or serious road traffic accident injuries. As part of his role, Michael also works with charities to help reduce the number of road casualties and support those whose lives are overturned after these tragic accidents.

Michael joined Simpson Millar in March 2023, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in road traffic accidents from his career with Greater Manchester Police. He was a serving police officer for 30 years, 24 of which he served on the traffic and motorway units where he dealt with a wide range of fatal and serious collisions. During his time in the police, he also trained as a Family Liaison Officer where he would support families through the police investigation and court process following road traffic accidents.

As part of GMP, he trained as a police advanced driver and tutor, as well as taking on the role of Abnormal Load officer where he was responsible for traffic management, working with Transport For Greater Manchester (TFGM). Michael was also the North West Police Force liaison officer for the Traffic Commissioner, and took national qualifications in Tachograph Analysis and the Carriage of Dangerous Goods regulations.

We are delighted to welcome Michael on board at Simpson Millar, where he uses his invaluable insight into road safety, law enforcement, accidents, and crisis management to help us achieve our mission of supporting clients in the best way possible to seek the justice, care and support they need after road traffic accidents.
