Lidia Foster is a Partner and a Manager in our Care Proceedings department, based in our Leeds office.

Professional Biography

Lidia graduated with a 2:1 in Law from Leicester University in 2011 and achieved a distinction in her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Leeds in 2012. She joined Simpson Millar in October 2018, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from her six years of dedicated and practical experience in family law. Before her official recognition as a qualified Solicitor in 2016, Lidia had also invested three crucial years completing significant pre-qualification work.

In her day-to-day role at Simpson Millar, Lidia supports and represents parents, children and other family members when the local authority becomes involved in their family life. This includes advising on pre-proceeding involvement and representing in child care proceedings if matters are brought to court.

Lidia’s main areas of expertise are in children matters within Family Law. She has spent the majority of her career representing vulnerable people. Lidia is experienced in dealing with complex proceedings including allegations of non-accidental injuries, international elements and female genital mutilation as well as allegations of physical, sexual and emotional harm and neglect.
