Katie Green is a Trainee Solicitor in our Court of Protection department, based in our Manchester office.
Professional Biography
Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Salford University in 2022 and completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) and a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Law in 2024. She has previous experience in Personal Injury Law, which provides her with a deeper understanding of the challenges her clients face, improving her ability to empathise and anticipate issues effectively.
In her daily duties, Katie assists solicitors with the management of Health and Welfare Court of Protection cases, including matters brought under section 21A and section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act. She works on cases representing P (the person who lacks capacity), family members, and matters where the Official Solicitor is instructed. Her role also involves arranging capacity assessments and co-ordinating with professionals involved in a person’s care, including speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to support her clients’ care, welfare, and support needs.
Katie is an active member of the Court of Protection Practitioners Association (CoPPA), a voluntary organisation that hosts seminars of interest to professionals working in the Court of Protection.
From a young age, Katie has been driven to pursue a career in law, with a specific passion for working in the Court of Protection. She is committed to assisting some of the most vulnerable members of society, believing strongly that her work significantly impacts those who lack capacity and their families. Despite the challenges, she finds great fulfilment in making a meaningful difference in their lives.
