Katie Bowker is a Paralegal within our Education and Children’s Rights team. She is based in Lancaster.
Professional Biography
Katie supports children, young people, and families from the initial enquiry through to the conclusion of their case. She assists with appeals to the First-tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability), helping families gather evidence, review school and local authority records, liaise with independent experts, and prepare key documents such as witness statements, case summaries, chronologies, and hearing bundles.
Katie also supports solicitors on public law matters, including Judicial Review claims, where decisions made by public bodies may be challenged. Her responsibilities include preparing case papers, organising supporting evidence, monitoring court and pre-action deadlines, and maintaining detailed records throughout proceedings.
Throughout every stage of a case, Katie aims to provide responsive and reassuring support, helping families understand the process and ensuring they feel listened to as they seek the right educational provision and support for their child.
Educational background
Katie is currently studying for a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at Lancaster University and is expected to graduate in 2027.
