Paralegal, Education Law
London

Ian McAweeney is a Paralegal within our Education and Children’s Rights department. He is based in London.
After graduating from university, Ian began his legal career as a Legal Executive in the Child and Disability Law team at another law firm in Dublin. During this time, he gained valuable hands-on experience in litigation, supporting children, young people, and families in matters involving education and disability rights. This role helped him develop a strong understanding of public interest law and the importance of ensuring vulnerable individuals are able to access the support and services they are entitled to.
In his day-to-day role, Ian assists solicitors with a wide range of education law matters. His responsibilities include drafting legal documents, preparing court and tribunal bundles, organising evidence, and facilitating client meetings. He also supports the progression of cases by ensuring documentation is accurate and prepared in accordance with court and tribunal requirements.
Ian graduated from Dublin City University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL), achieving First Class Honours. During his undergraduate studies, Ian was named on the Dean's Honour List in recognition of his academic achievement.
