Areas of Expertise:

Hayley is an Associate Solicitor specialising in Court of Protection and is based in our Lancaster office. She joined Simpson Millar in 2018 as an Education Law Paralegal before starting her training contract in October 2020.

Hayley has experience in all areas of education law and has expertise in assisting with appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal. During her training contract, Hayley also spent time assisting property and affairs deputies appointed by the Court of Protection to manage the finances of individuals who lack capacity.

Hayley qualified as a solicitor in October 2022 and now specialises in health and welfare applications. She mostly assists vulnerable people who wish to challenge a decision which deprives them of their liberty or where there are disputes regarding an individual’s capacity or best interests. These matters often address sensitive issues, including residence, care and contact.

Hayley graduated with an LLB in Law and Criminology from the University of Sheffield in 2016 and completed her LLM in Professional Legal Practice at The University of Law in 2021.

Hayley is a member of The Court of Protection Practitioners Association (CoPPA).

Interests Outside of Work

Hayley enjoys playing netball, reading, travelling and running (sometimes).
