Solicitor, Abuse Claims
Manchester

Phoebe Powell is a Solicitor within our Abuse Claims department.
Professional Biography
Phoebe studied Law (Bachelor of Laws, LLB) at the University of Sheffield, graduating in 2021 with a 2:1.
Phoebe began her legal career in February 2022 as a Legal Claims Handler at another law firm, where she worked on new enquiries across a range of areas, including abuse, before moving into personal injury, clinical negligence, military, and industrial disease matters. This role involved speaking with potential clients at an early stage, gathering information about their claims, and helping to assess whether a case could proceed.
In January 2023, Phoebe was promoted to Contact Centre Legal Advocate, where she took on additional responsibility for mentoring and training new colleagues, as well as assessing the risks and viability of new personal injury claims. This role helped her to develop strong communication skills and a clear, practical approach to legal problem-solving.
From January 2024 to February 2026, Phoebe completed our Solicitor Graduate Apprenticeship within the Military team, qualifying through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. During this time, she assisted on a range of complex cases, including those involving bullying and harassment, assault, clinical negligence, and personal injury, gaining hands-on experience in case preparation, evidence gathering, and client support.
Phoebe qualified as a Solicitor in February 2026 and moved into the Abuse Claims team, where she now supports clients in highly sensitive and often complex matters.
In her day-to-day role, Phoebe assists on cases led by a Team Leader to support clients throughout the claim process whilst she builds her own caseload. Her work includes regular communication with clients, including vulnerable individuals, reviewing records, drafting legal documents, and preparing for conferences and court hearings.
Phoebe is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and ensuring that their voices are heard when they have experienced harm. She takes pride in providing clear, supportive advice and is committed to helping clients feel understood and guided throughout the legal process.
