Phoebe Powell

Phoebe Powell is a Solicitor Graduate Apprentice within our Military Claims team, based in our Manchester office.

Professional Biography

Phoebe graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2021 with a 2:1 in Law. During her studies, she was an active member of the Edward Bramley Law Society and participated in the Society’s ‘Law into Schools and Colleges’ programme, where she helped to raise awareness of legal issues among young people through school outreach sessions.

She joined Simpson Millar in 2022, initially working in our Contact Centre as a Legal Call Handler supporting both Public and Private Law teams. In this role, she helped individuals facing a wide range of legal challenges, gaining experience in listening to clients, assessing their needs, and offering clear initial guidance.

In July 2022, Phoebe became a Legal Claims Handler, where she continued to work closely with clients and developed her understanding of many different areas of law. In January 2023, she was promoted to Contact Centre Legal Advocate. This position involved mentoring and training new colleagues, assessing the risks of new claims, and sharing knowledge across a variety of legal departments.

In January 2024, Phoebe began her Solicitor Graduate Apprenticeship and joined our Military Claims team. She is now working towards her qualification under the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. As part of her day-to-day role, Phoebe supports Solicitors across the team, including Kirstie Bork and Sinead Cartwright, on a wide range of military claims. These include cases involving clinical negligence, noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), bullying and harassment, and other injuries sustained during service.

Her responsibilities include regular contact with clients, reviewing service and medical records, liaising with witnesses, drafting legal documents such as letters of claim and witness statements, and preparing for and attending conferences with Counsel.
