Industrial Illness/Disease claims; Fatal Accident Claims and Personal Injury Claims
Career:
Partner and Head of Industrial Disease. Emma heads up the Bristol office and specialises in industrial and occupational disease claims, in particular: asbestos, asthma and lung disease, COSHH and environmental exposure claims, dermatitis, work related upper limb disorder, plantar fasciitis and deafness claims. Emma has a wide experience of personal injury litigation and has achieved settlements in excess of £1m in the areas of spinal injury, traumatic brain injury and traumatic amputation. Emma has developed a particular expertise in acting for elderly clients. She only represents Claimants. Emma is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and specialises in spinal injury and industrial disease litigation.
Career History:
Qualified as a barrister in 1992 and began work with Simpson Millar LLP in April 1994. Emma moved to Bristol in September of the same year and helped Lisa Sheldon open the Simpson Millar Bristol Office. Emma became dual qualified as a solicitor 3 years later in 1996 and has been Partner in charge of the Bristol Office for the last 7 years.
Education
Emma read law at Birmingham University, joined Lincoln’s Inn and studied at the Inns of Court School of Law before being called to the bar in 1992.
Interests:
Emma lives in Bristol with her husband and 2 young children. Her interests include classical music and gardening.
