Compensation for accident at work in a care home

Our client was working in a care home restraining a patient when the accident occurred.
When a patient was being aggressive and being restrained by 6 members of staff, our client was asked to take over holding the patients leg. Before our client had chance to secure hold, another employee let go of the patients legs. This allowed the patient to kick out and land a blow into our client's ribs.
Our client suffered from soft tissue injuries to his ribs which resolved after 3 months. Liability was admitted by the defendant after enquiries. Medical evidence was secured and negotiations began to take place to come to an agreement over a settlement.
£2,150 was the final figure that was negotiated and accepted by our client for his personal injury in the workplace.
