Gregg joined Simpson Millar in January 2017 having previously worked in a large outer London Local Authority for three years as their SEN Tribunal Officer. He has experience in Special Educational Needs and Disability appeals through ensuring children’s special educational needs are adequately specified and quantified in their Statement of SEN or Education Health and Care Plans as well as ensuring that children attend suitable educational placements.
Gregg qualified in 2011 at a large national civil legal aid firm, where he undertook seats in Housing Law, Community Care and Criminal defence. He also has experience in Public law and litigation through Judicial Review. He has also worked for the Football Association for two years in regulatory law. He would risk assess individual’s suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults within football under the Football Association’s Safeguarding Rules and Regulations.
Gregg is also able to advise on matters relating to Judicial Review, children out of school, disability discrimination, school admissions as well as school exclusions.
Additionally, Gregg volunteers with a Salvation Army Law Centre clinic on a drop in basis in South West London. He has also undertaken a course to assist clients through the Free Representation Unit, a scheme designed to assist clients of limited means at risk of losing their Welfare Benefits and have exercised the right of appeal through the First Tier Tribunal.
He obtained a joint Honours degree in Law and French spending time in a French university and is a fluent French speaker.
In his spare time, Gregg enjoys playing football and golf (with varying degrees of success). He is a qualified football referee and coach. He is also an avid follower of Hereford F.C, which often makes for entertaining weekends in their quest to regain league status.
