Medical Negligence Paralegal
Abdul joined Simpson Millar in 2015, dealing with the day-to-day running of our in-house Medico Legal agency.
He earned an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the Open University after studying part-time alongside his full-time work with the firm.
In March 2019, Abdul joined the Medical Negligence department and made an instant impact. He has an excellent attention to detail and many fascinating ideas, which he has implemented to improve efficiency and productivity within the department and firm. He currently assists Partners and Solicitors with a mixed range of multi-track cases including Negligent Medical Advice, Birth Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Amputation, Surgical Errors, Missed or Delayed Diagnosis and Delay of Cancer Diagnosis.
Abdul is passionate about client care and delivering a personal service to each client.
He has wide expertise in personal injury claims such as employer’s liability, public liability, road traffic accidents, holiday claims and criminal injuries, which led to an invitation to join the highly regarded Medical Negligence Team as a Fee Earning Paralegal.
In May 2017, he became a Fee Earner Paralegal, supporting the work of the legal team in our Care Homes department before moving to the Medical Negligence Department.
His role then predominantly consisted of investigating, analysing and collating evidence in care home cases and closely supported the department’s Solicitors and Lawyers to recover care fees from the NHS. He assisted on many highly complex matters that resulted in favourable outcomes, which entailed escalating to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO).
He is currently an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), and is continuing his personal development, with the aim of becoming a fully qualified Chartered Legal Executive in the near future.
Abdul received a Directors Award in February 2016.
