The Francis Enquiry – Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust
This inquiry, led by Robert Francis QC
investigated failings at the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust
. The findings have highlighted systemic failings with far reaching consequences
across the health service. The report emphasises the importance of placing “the patient at the center of how the NHS delivers care and highlights the importance of nursing actions and the training and supervision of support staff.
Poorly managed, co-ordinated and regulated care can lead to sub-standard treatment and care
with the fundamental and basic requirements of patients remaining unmet. For example physical comfort, appropriate pain management, appropriate nutrition and hydration and the prevention of complications such as deep vein thrombosis and pressure ulcers. It can also result in delayed diagnosis and delayed treatment
and ultimately this can lead to additional suffering or even death
If you or your family have been affected by any of these issues at the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust for anywhere else you should contact a Medical Negligence Solicitor
to find out if you could be entitled to compensation.
