Simpson Millar takes on regional heavyweights for charity
For the third year running, sports enthusiasts from Simpson Millar and 19 other local businesses teams swapped suits for boots in the Wooden Spoon's annual Touch Rugby Tournament
Against the might of DLA Piper, PACE, Price Waterhouse Coopers and KPMG, the scene was set for a clash of titans as our guys took to the pitch.
Founded in 1983 Wooden Spoon is a children’s charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged and disabled children across the Britain
by running medical treatment centres, sports and activity areas for disabled children as well as outreach and sports programmes in deprived areas.
Wooden Spoon funds all its own initiatives and the proceeds from this year’s sports event will go directly to those who need it most.
Last but not least
This year's Touch Rugby Tournament was held on the 11th of June 2013 at Moortown Rugby Club
The Simpson Millar team proudly featured: Kate Clarkson, Alex Dunne, Jen Wild, Ryan Dixon, Arif Khalfe, Dale Bilby, Matthew Stephenson, Rachel Blythe, Vyv Falkingham and her daughter Michaela.
Sadly, we didn’t win but finished 5th in our group
with just four points. Estate agent DTZ took home the Wooden Spoon Trophy and will carry the title of ‘Spoon Champions’
until this time next year.
“This event is a great way for everyone involved to get together with people from other firms across Leeds, whilst supporting a great cause. Our congratulations go to DTZ as winners of the tournament," said Simpson Millar’s Kate Clarkson.
