Simpson Millar LLP welcomes medical negligence partner

Patrick Booth has joined Simpson Millar’s Medical Negligence department as a Partner where he will divide his time between the firm’s Yorkshire offices.

Patrick was previously joint Managing Partner at Taylor Simpson & Mosley in Nottingham, where he was instrumental in establishing the firm’s medical negligence department.

In addition to a significant book of cases, Patrick brings with him extensive expertise in the medical negligence field and will continue to visit clients in the Nottingham area.

Neil Fearn, who is the National head of Simpson Millar’s Medical Negligence department, said:

"Patrick is a hugely talented lawyer who has extensive experience in dealing with the most complex and severe clinical negligence cases including on behalf of clients with cerebral palsy and other birth defects. "

"His track record speaks for itself; to date he has recovered many millions of pounds in compensation for his clients. "

"To welcome someone whose expertise has been recognised by the Law Society is a pleasure and a real coup for our clients."

Patrick has already received a very warm welcome by the team in Leeds, where he will be spending most of his time. On his decision to move to the firm, Patrick said:

"Simpson Millar is an excellent firm that genuinely cares about its clients and it is this ethos which first attracted me to it."

"Joining one of the country’s largest Medical Negligence teams is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to sharing my experience with my new colleagues."

Patrick’s memberships include:

  • The Law Society's Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury panels
  • The Referral Panel of the charity Action for Victims of Medical Accidents

In addition, Patrick has been appointed by the Court of Protection to act as Deputy for a number of clients who have diminished capacity and need help carrying out their financial affairs.

He also acts as an Assessor for the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and is on the LSC Funding Review Committee.
